Performance Night | Opening Party | August 28 at 20.00 | Gerðarsafn

Join us for the opening party of the festival and a series of performances at Gerðarsafn!

Official opening of the festival will take place earlier the same day, August 28th, at 6 PM with a concert at Salurinn, opening of all exhibitions and performances at Kópavogur Library as well as the Visitor travel agency office.

Performance Night at Gerðarsafn starts at 8 PM.

Hamraborg Festival hosts another series of performances at Gerðarsafn, where local and international artists will take over the museum's space and the underground parking lot by Molinn.

Estonian dance duo Juliuus Vaiksoo and Helena Tõrva are bringing a beautiful chaos of bodies. Michael Richardt, in collaboration with Egill Ásdísarson, will let sound spill and reverberate through the exhibition rooms in a cyborg-infused sonic performance. Silfrún Una will make cars dance and talk, while sewing machines and hair combs join Lindy Lin’s sound performance, inviting us to follow the sound wherever it takes us.

Bodies, machines, noise, dreams, movement, and a little bit of glorious chaos.

Join us for an opening party afterwards! DJ set by DJ ÓK and Krónikan open until late! All are welcome!

***Please note: the first performance will start outside, at the car park under Molinn (across from Gerðarsafn)!
