On the occasion of Culture Night, 22 August at 10:00-20:00, the Reykjavik Maritime Museum is teaming up with the British Antarctic Survey and the British Embassy to welcome the UK’s Royal Research Ship Sir David Attenborough to Iceland. The ship is calling in at Reykjavik on its way home from studying Greenland's melting glaciers.
Join us at the museum for a pop-up exhibition where you can learn about the ship, meet the crew and scientists, and hear about why research in Greenland matters to us all. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

Programme:
13:00-16:00 Speak to the crew and scientists
14:00-14:30 Science Talk: “Greenland’s icesheet is melting faster than ever – what does this mean for Atlantic Ocean currents, and Europe’s weather?” - Alison Cook, Postdoctoral Researcher in Polar Geospatial Analysis (Scottish Association for Marine Science)
10:00-20:00 Colouring Workshop
10:00-20:00 Pop-up exhibition open
