This summer, saxophonist Moritz Christiansen will be touring his former homeland, Iceland, with his Hamburg trio. At the beginning of the tour, the trio will be working on new music, which they will then perform at various venues across the country and record in a studio at the end. The music is classified as Nordic jazz and "ambient" with an emphasis on clear melodies and telling stories through music.
After concerts in Reykjavík and Akureyri, Sláturhúsið is the third destination on the tour.
In addition to Moritz, the trio also includes drummer Alex Petratos and guitarist Anton Deyß.
