Animal Welfare Iceland, Humane World for Animals and the Nordic House invite you to an event examining fur farming in Iceland, looking at the current state of the industry, animal welfare, its economic impact and what the future may hold.
The programme will feature talks by Icelandic and international experts, short films, a musical performance by Ragnheiður Gröndal and a panel discussion with representatives from political parties, followed by questions from the audience.
Among the international guests are Mike Moser, who spent many years working within the international fur industry, and economist Artūrs Kaņepājs, who has carried out an in-depth social and economic analysis of fur farming in Iceland. He will present the key findings of his work at the event.
Light refreshments and welcome drinks will be served. Admission is free and the event is open to everyone, subject to venue capacity.
A full programme will be announced at a later date.
Save the date! We look forward to seeing you at the Nordic House on 9 October.
Accessibility: Elissa Auditorium has good accessibility; there is a low threshold into the room. Read about opening hours and accessibility at the Nordic House website
