After years abroad in London, Qatar, the Netherlands and Texas, she now brings her soul-driven R&B to iconic stages across Australia. After receiving praise from Triple J, NOVA and numerous editorial placements, Alisya Rae has proven herself to be one to watch in the Australian music scene. This show will be celebrating her debut EP ‘For the Night’, an Alternative R&B project which explores the building stages of falling for someone and its repetitive cycle, brought to life in the live set with punchy arrangements that showcase this emerging force in her strongest era yet. With a voice that has been classically trained and musicianship beyond her years, Alisya’s audience knows no bounds.

Alisya Rae will be joined by emerging local talent, MIAR, 18-year old R&B singer-songwriter and Isagani, rising hip-hop artist.

Naarm/Melbourne based and internationally raised, Alisya Rae [a-lee-sha ray] is in a lane of her own creating soul-driven R&B paired with her smooth, nostalgic vocals. After years abroad in London, Qatar, the Netherlands and Texas, she returns to her birthplace, determined to bring her unique sound to the Australian music scene. Highly active in the Melbourne gig scene, Alisya and her band have graced the stages of numerous local venues supporting notable local acts such as Stevan, WANDERERS, Tekoa, Playlunch, Powloh, Strawbz and Pretty Moi. Though her roots are in classical training, her songwriting leans towards the likes of H.E.R, Amy Winehouse and Yebba. Alisya reflects on heartbreak with an empowering edge through driving beats and soulful melodies, sung by her “big vocal range that demands attention and once that chorus kicks in, you’ll be dancing/singing like your soul depends on it” (Claire Mooney, Triple J).
