Dziesięć lat zajęło pochodzącemu z Południowej Kalifornii Spite, by zarejestrować 5 płyt. Na ostatniej z nich, wydanej w drugiej połowie 2025 roku "New World Killer" (na którym gościnnie wystąpili m.in. członkowie Lorna Shore i Boundaries), zespół udowodnił, że jest jedną z wiodących sił współczesnego deathcore'u. Downtempo, ale też wariackie tempa, groove, momentami niemal thrashowe riffy, a wszystko oczywiście okraszone wokalami Dariusa Tehraniego, jakby wyciągniętymi z koszmaru. Na żywo to musi być petarda i takiego rozpoczęcia roku lepiej nie ominąć. Kilka lat temu Revolver Magazine nazwał Emmure "najbardziej polaryzującym metalowym zespołem od czasów Limp Bizkit". Czy od tego czasu coś się zmieniło? W sumie nie jest to szczególnie istotne, bo Frankie Palmeri z ekipą raczej swoich przekonań nie zmienili i w dalszym ciągu kierują środkowy palec do otaczającego nas świata. Tu nigdy nie chodziło o skomplikowane metafory, ale o pasję i szczerość, którą grupa wypluwała za sprawą energetycznej mieszanki metalcore'u, nu-metalu oraz beatdownu. Tak jak Spite to czołówka amerykańskiego deathcore'u, to w Europie ich odpowiednikiem jest Distant. Skład, który tworzą muzycy z Rotterdamu i Bratysławy, łączy naznaczoną dysonansami gałąź gatunku z brutalnym death metalem i beatdownem. Wprawieni w światowych scenach, które dzielili m.in. z takimi nazwami jak Lorna Shore, Suicide Silence czy Decapitated. 21 maja na salony wjechała ich nowa EP-ka "Rat Torture". Ten intensywny wieczór rozpoczniemy od setu Mauled - świeżaków z Indianapolis, którzy ze swoją muzyką cofają się do lat zerowych i myspace'owej ery deathcore'u. Nie liczcie tu na czyste partie pisane pod algorytmy - na swojej ostatniej EP-ce, "When Your Eyes Are Shut", formacja gwałtownie łapie słuchacza za gardło, odcinając mu dopływ tlenu. EmmureIt's a respect issue and growing up in Queens, NY you either have to kill or be killed. EMMURE have embraced this ideology and have grown stronger as a result. However, instead of taking out their aggressions in negative ways they channeled their collective angst into their music to create a propulsive blend of unabashed aggression and intensity that the youth across the world embrace with open arms.
EMMURE keep it simple and straight-forward, but this coupled with vocalist Frankie Palmeri's brutal openness and honesty connects to people on a level that few others can. Everyone has demons and dark sides to their lives, but this group shows that everyone deals with these types of issues and that there are productive ways to let it all out. EMMURE have gained the loyalty of the metal community and legions of rabid fans, but make no mistake if you disrespect them you will be left sleeping with the fishes.

DISTANT is a 4-piece crushing DOWNTEMPO DEATHCORE band hailing from Rotterdam, The Netherlands and Bratislava, Slovakia.
Distant, the embodiment of energy, intensity, and sheer brutality in the realm of deathcore, stand as a formidable force in the heavy music landscape. Originating from the juxtaposed locales of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and Bratislava, Slovakia, this collective concocts a sonic amalgamation, melding hyper-dissonant downtempo deathcore, slamming brutal death metal, and beatdown into a maelstrom of heaviness that engulfs the senses.
Since their inception in 2014, Distant has commanded attention, unleashing their inaugural EP, "Slither," upon the world in 2015. Their meteoric rise surged with the critically acclaimed release of "Tsukuyomi" in 2017, solidifying their position as a force to be reckoned with. However, it was with their debut full-length album, "Tyrannotophia," under the banner of Unique Leader Records, that they truly cemented their musical prowess.
