HÁTÍÐ Ó-HLJÓÐS Ó-FRIÐAR

Austurbæjarbíó, Snorrabraut 37, 105 Reykjavík Directions

Sat Dec 12 2026 14:00

We’re steeling ourselves for the clash ahead, tuning up and preparing for a celebration of noise and unrest.

To mark 40 years of Smekkleysa, we’ve sounded the horns, rallied an army of bands and musicians, and called for an all-out musical feast at Austurbæjarbíó on Saturday, 12 December.

Clashing sonic worlds will meet as familiar faces return and new troublemakers make themselves heard. Nobody knows quite what will unfold, but one thing is certain: it won’t be quiet.

Forty years in, all that remains is the countdown.
