Friends of Finland and fans of Balkan music in Kjós and the surrounding areas (that gigantic intersection) can rejoice mightily on Saturday evening, November 7, when the Finnish band Jaakko Laitinen & Väärä Raha will perform their magic in the barn at Hjalli.

Since 2009, Jaakko Laitinen and his friends have enchanted audiences far and wide across Europe, and they enjoy great success in their homeland—as everyone knows, only good things come from Finland.

It is Jaakko’s friend Svavar Knútur who is bringing this splendid company to these shores, and at Jaakko’s persistent request, he will perform a few songs to warm up the audience.

The evening, however, will be almost entirely in the hands of the wonderful Finns, who have marinated their souls in Balkan liquor distilled in an old Trabant.

Admission to the concert is a mere 4,000 krónur.
